Off to Paris we go

As promised, we're continuing our trip to Paris. There was some really beautiful scenery to be seen from the train, as always, and here is one of my favourite of those. It reminds me of a Cezanne or Monet. Love it!

Self portrait. Like my new camera?

Long train rides sure are tiring.

Isaac didn't get any of me sleeping because I had the camera on me most of the time on the train and he didn't want to wake me... which would have ruined the effect. hahaha.

But, sometimes we had good times on the trains too. :D

Finally! PARIS!!
A view from our hotel, through the wrought iron shutters.

And one more before it got too dark :D.

The plan once we got into Paris was to make reservations for a night train to San Sebastian. Try as we might though, there was still nothing available. So, on to plan B. We got Tickets to Marsailles, FR. Due to the lateness of the hour by that point, we didn't get to see much of the city. We stayed at a really nice hotel right across from the train station. That was definitely helpful since we had that 6am train to catch the next morning.
Next Stop: Marsailles.

Beautifull pictures again, you are very good at taking pictures. The scenery was awesome. Like that self portrait too. Nifty.
You didn't stay in Paris very long. Can't wait to see Marsailles.
Love, DAD.

Ahhh, that's so nice. You're fun to be on vacation with because getting there is half the fun and you're showing that too!

I hope a copy of your black and white AND colour vacation calendar is going to be under my Christmas tree. (Santa reads blogs right???)

I am glad you finally got off that train to Paris, that was a long ride. No pictures of the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre etc.? Reading about hat train to San Sebastian brings back memories. We made it that train (Oh can it be - almost 30 years ago. At that time the train was full of soldiers. We were totally unaware of the political situation at that time - we had no idea there was a civil war going on at the time - a Basque uprising I believe. Looking back it was pretty scary, we had to hold on for dear life during the night to keep our compartment door shut(soldiers tried to keep coming in all night)- we were so naive and ignorant, maybe that was a good thing - God protected us certainly on that trip.
Have a great week, Hope everyone enjoyed the Boterkoek.

Lovely photo of the "monet" scene Mary. Great pics of you and Isaac, too. I love the one of you laughing! :D
A shame that you were only there at night and the train left so eary the next morning. :(
Oh well... on to the next stop! :D
